- HAVE YOU EVER USED "MAN" (MANUAL) PAGES TO LOOK UP UNIX COMMANDS?
- Did you like how they worked, or did you think you could design
- them better? If so, here's your chance...

- SunSoft is looking for individuals to participate in the following
- usability study to evaluate new UNIX "man" page structure and content:

- STUDY TOPIC: UNIX man pages

- STUDY LENGTH: 1.5 hrs.

- STUDY DATES: Choice of "ONE" of these three days:
- Tue, Feb. 27; Wed, Feb. 28; Thu, Feb. 29
- Study dates/hours are flexible to fit your schedule.

- LOCATION: SunSoft's Usability Engineering Center in Mountain View, CA
- A map will be provided upon confirmation

- DURING THE STUDY YOU WILL:
- - Evaluate prototypes of new UNIX "man" page structure and content,
- including commands and interfaces (system calls and library routines)
- - Discuss your likes, dislikes, concerns, and ideas,
- especially regarding content, ease of use, and overall satisfaction
- - Receive a small token gift in appreciation of your time and feedback

- WE ARE CURRENTLY LOOKING FOR INDIVIDUALS WHO:
- - are Software Developers with at least 6 months experience
- developing on UNIX (can be part-time)
- - have at least 3 yrs. development experience on all systems
- (including UNIX exper.)
- - use man pages for reference when programming
- - are familiar with C programming constructs (written or
- maintained simple C programs)+

- ALSO:
- - Are willing to sign a non-disclosure agreement
- - Are willing to be video taped during the study
- (your identity will be kept in confidence)
- - Work/live within driving distance to Mountain View, CA
- - Preferably, Do NOT work at Sun Microsystems, Inc.
